Chair of the Board - Marc Beveridge
Marc, a member of EPS since 2002, served as Chair of the Eastern Branch and is currently chairs the Societies Health PIG and has also been heavily involved in the development of the current Strategic Business Framework as a member of the Society Issues Group. Currently employed as Deputy Regional Health Emergency Planning Advisor for the East of England. During his time with the HPA has been involved in the HPA's response to a number of incidents from the London Bombings, Buncefield Storage Depot fire and most recently the Avian Influenza outbreak in Norfolk. My priorities for the next 12 months will be building on the work already undertaken, working with the Director of Events and Training to develop the CPD Scheme and the introduction of a comprehensive benefits package for members.

Director Strategy - Fraser Easton
Fraser, a member of the EPS since 1984, served in a number of branch and national officer roles since 1988. Currently works as a Specialist Inspector (Emergency Planning) with HSE's Offshore Safety Division in Aberdeen. 'My priority for the next 12 months is to identify new opportunities to expand the range of services delivered by the Society.'

Director Member Services - Mike Lees
Mike is a long-standing member of the EPS having previously served as Vice-Chairman of the Transport PWG and the Yorkshire and Humberside Branch representative to Council. He served with the South Yorkshire Police for 30 years and has since worked as a management trainer and NHS emergency planner prior to joining the British Transport Police as NE Area Emergency Planning Manager in October 2007. His police experience included posts in community liaison, communications and emergency planning, whilst his post for an international training agency included working with BNFL at Sellafield, Virgin Trains, Royal Mail and the Environment Agency.

Mike has been a responder and advisor at a number of major incidents including Hillsborough, Selby, the 2007 flooding and 4 air crashes. He was the emergency planning lead for Robin Hood and Sheffield Airports, Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Magna at Rotherham and a number of counter-terrorism protocols. He has also worked in the business continuity sector and received two commendations whilst with the South Yorkshire Police.

As the Director of Membership Services, Mike has a very experienced team of EPS members working on qualifications and upgrades, His aims for the forthcoming year include facilitating a number of further upgrade workshops, encouraging and supporting members to upgrade, reviewing membership benefits and linking entry qualifications into the core competencies framework. Mike is a Fellow of the Society, Member of a number of other professional bodies and holds an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester. He is also an accredited health and safety advisor. Mike is proud to hail from Yorkshire, lives in Barnsley and is married to Catherine who teaches modern languages in ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ country.

Director Communications - Steve Terry
Steve has been a member of the EPS since 2004, becoming London Branch Secretary in January 2005, before being elected as Branch Chair in 2007.  Having graduated in 2003 with an MSc in ‘Catchment Dynamics and Management’ (flood risk and water resource management) Steve worked in flood risk management for the Environment Agency, where he got involved in an early draft of the Suffolk Community Risk Register and was Exercise Facilitator during Exercise Triton, the National flooding exercise held in June 2004.  Having caught the Emergency Planning ‘bug’, he joined the London Borough of Hackney as a fully-fledged EPO in 2004 where, amongst other duties, he wrote Hackney’s large-scale evacuation (Operation Sassoon) plan and was involved in managing the consequences of the attempted bombing of a bus in Hackney on 21st July 2005.  In the autumn of 2005 Steve joined London Fire Brigade Emergency Planning (LFB-EP) as an EPO (his current post), where he was responsible for delivering LFB-EP’s duties under the CCA (2004) for pan-London planning, training and exercising.  Most notably, he was Joint Exercise Manager for Exercise Safer City (October 2006), which involved 550+ staff from across the London Resilience Partnership.  In his current role Steve is responsible for writing, exercising and maintaining multi-agency Off-Site Emergency Plans under the Control of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH) Regulations (1999, as amended).  Prior to working in Emergency Planning, he graduated with a BSc (Hons.) in Geography, after which Steve worked for 4 years in insurance and investments for LloydsTSB, where his duties included implementing change management programs, staff training, quality assurance and complaints handling – skills that have come in very handy as an EPO! 

Director Events and Training - Martina Corrigan
Martina, a member of the EPS since 1998. I was founder member of Northern Ireland Branch and held executive posts of Regional Representative and Treasurer during my time with this Branch. Currently employed as Project Manager on a Crisis Management Project, delivering On-line Crisis Management Training to eleven acute hospitals in the Border Regions on Northern and Southern Ireland. My priorities for the next 12 months are to work with the Emergency Planning College in drawing up Core Competences, working to establish and implement fully the CPD scheme, oversee the organisation of the 2007 Annual Conference in Torquay to be held on 18-19 June and to support and encourage EPS Events and Seminars in particular one day events on topical subjects that reflect lessons learned and add value to members and their employer organisations.

Director Finance - Ian Notman
Ian currenlty works as the Business Risk manager for The Isle of Man Government Department of Home Affairs. Before his present position Ian worked in the IOM Government Emergency Planning Unit and prior to that in the Finance/Commercial sector for over 25 years at director level for a number of Isle of Man Companies undertaking system and finance responsibilities. 'In my role as Finance Director of the EPS I have undertaken a fundamental review of the accounting systems and introduced a modern accounting package which allows for accurate and up to date financial information and budgets to be provided. This will allow for better financial management and planning and this work continues with the overall objective to give the Society financial strength and provide benefits to the members.'

Director Professional Issues - Alan Gardner
Alan is Managing Director of Emergency Planning Solutions Ltd (EPS Ltd) based in Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland and is also an Associate Course Director of the Cabinet Office Emergency Planning College at Easingwold. Alan has over eight years experience in emergency planning and business continuity management, having worked at senior management level co-ordinating teams of 85 -125 individuals on a daily basis. He was involved in event planning for a number of corporate clients including Marlboro cigarettes, Peugeot, Ford and British Grand Prix, before working in collaboration with a number of government agencies on high profile, risk management strategies. Assessing risks, developing strategic plans and overseeing their successful implementation, Alan has extensive practical experience in resolving negative situations. Alan, alongside the Emergency Planning College has been involved in the design and delivery of a bespoke training package on Risk Management and Business Continuity Management for the Local Government Emergency Management Group and Police Service of Northern Ireland. He also helped design a bespoke training package on Business Continuity for the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service, which he delivered in conjunction with the Emergency Planning College. Currently, Alan is heavily involved with the Emergency Planning College in the design and delivery of a wide range of courses, both within Northern Ireland and at the College. In addition, EPS Ltd is providing training packages on behalf of Queens University, Cranfield University and the Chartered Institute of Public Financing and Accountancy (CIPFA). Alan has also been brokered a number of high profile business deals in both the private and public sectors, including providing bespoke consultancy to a number of sporting venues to aid in their resilience capability for hosting international competitions and tournaments. Alan holds a 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree in Geography, including modules in disaster and risk management and has also completed the seven core subjects in law, which he studied concurrent to his degree. He is a PRINCE 2 registered practitioner and holds the title, 'Member' of the Emergency Planning Society. He is a keen sports enthusiast, regularly participating in triathlon competitions and golf tournaments. He is a member of Royal Portrush Golf Club where he currently plays off a handicap of three. He is married to Karen with two children.
