Membership And Development
Membership & Development
Welcome to the EPS Membership & Development section of the website. The Membership & Development Committee intend this area is updated on a regular basis and provide a discussion forum for issues such as membership upgrades, workshops and events, Core Competency Framework, CPD and Educational Standards. Although the committee has a number of ideas, these subjects are Society, Branch and individual member focused so any input, concerns or discussion topics are most welcome. Membership & Development along with Core Competencies and CPD will be included as a discussion board topic in the near future.
June Thompson and I continue to promote both Core Competency and Upgrade Workshops I would like to thank the members who have previously attended for the invitation, some lively discussion and hospitality. Hopefully we will continue both workshops into 2010 and any Branches who still require input on either of these subjects please contact either Dan Taylor or me. We are continuing discussions with fellow members from Wales, Scotland, Southern and just await possible dates.

As at 1st October 2009 the Society’s membership stood at 2,272 members with a membership profile as follows:
The above figures reinforce the need for members to seriously consider upgrading as soon as possible. Please contact Cardiff or any of the Committee for any assistance or support to upgrade your membership. The criteria for upgrading and possible certification is to be considered by the Board during the early part of 2010 with a view to the introduction of an examination or academic appraisal as early as September 2010.
Continuing Professional Development
This is the key piece of work to be completed by the Board by February 2010 and subject of a pilot programme by December 2009.
