Planning An Event
All events organised by the Emergency Planning Society, or in the Society’s name, must receive initial approval by the Board of Directors. These events include conferences, seminars and training days can be split into six basic categories:
• National events – such as the Society’s Annual Conference
• Branch events – organised at a local level
• Continuing Professional Development events
• Professional Working Group events
• Co-badged events – where the Society enters into an agreement to organise an event with another organisation
• Accredited events – where the Society accredits an event organised by a another organisation.
In order to gain approval for a proposed event the organiser must make a written application. In order to make the process as easy as possible the Society has prepared forms to assist the organiser in making an application. These are available to download on this website. The procedure to be followed in each case is:
Download the proforma, business case form and aide memoire from EPS website
Complete proforma and business case forms
Submit electronically to the EPS Central Office using the email address events@the-eps.org
A provisional booking will be made in the Events Calendar
Forms will be forwarded to the appropriate Director and Finance Director
Recommendations will be forwarded electronically to remainder of Board
Approval given and CPD points awarded
