EPS Chair's Charity 2008
As part of its Annual Conference and Exhibition it is traditional for the EPS Chair to nominate a good cause as its 'Chair's Charity'. For 2008 the Chair has chosen Macmillan Cancer Support. Aside from recognising the invaluable support that Macmillan offer to cancer sufferers (and their families and friends), we have chosen them for personal reasons too. Our colleague and friend Pauline Marren is suffering from cancer and would like to raise awareness of the essential services Macmillan provide: 'Few people are aware of the ongoing support given by Macmillan which start with befriending visits at the start of your illness so that by the time you are really ill good relationships have been made and at the end, whenever possible, if it is your request they will nurse you at home in familiar and loving surroundings'.
