The person specification sets outs the qualities, attributes, personal characteristics, skills, knowledge and experience required to be a Board Director.

  1. Understanding of the aims and objectives of the Society and the Board.

  4. Leadership skills and ability to inspire others.
  5. Ability to think and act strategically.
  6. Appreciation of organisational culture, development and change.

Knowledge and Experience

Where appropriate detailed knowledge of one or more of the following:

  1. Website and IT systems.
  2. Marketing, publicity, social media, branding and media and public relations.
  3. Branches and Branch development.
  4. Membership development and education.
  5. Financial management, accounting, budgeting and income generation.
  6. Employment of staff.
  7. Business planning and horizon scanning.

Commercial and entrepreneurial acumen.
