Emergency Planning Society announces exciting plans to develop new and improved Marketing and Communications Strategy
The convergence of emergency management with a broader resilience framework, supported by governance, competences and standards, has created both opportunities and challenges within the profession. The sector is broad, integrating expertise and competence from a wide variety of organisations.
As a professional body, the Board is aware that we must develop our strategy and vision, to address the changing environment and consider what factors are occurring resulting in a change to the professional practice of resilience.
Marketing and Communications plays a key part in developing this vision and, following a competitive tendering process, the Board is delighted to announce that we have appointed Taynuilt Associates Ltd to provide specialist support in the provision of marketing and communications services.
This will involve the development of a new marketing and communications strategy, increasing our digital visibility across the entire resilience sector and providing support to the members network and branches.
We will provide regular updates to EPS members and, working with Taynuilt Associates Ltd, we will immediately focus on the following areas;
• Improvement to the content and visibility of the EPS website
• Concentrate on effective marketing & communication action at branch and professional working group level and at Universities aligned to the EPS in the provision of established further education programmes on Resilience
• identify statutory resilience providers across public & private sector that could align with the EPS in professional development of staff and with the NGO/Humanitarian Sector where a lot of the skills and expertise held within existing EPS membership can be of use in helping those responding to the global humanitarian crises.
A number of priorities have been identified in addition to the immediate focus, and ongoing communication will be undertaken to keep members up to date.
